Company's Story
Azimut.ai was founded by former Israeli Navy officers who repeatedly encountered the same blind spot around the world: ports and coastal authorities simply cannot "see" everything happening at sea. Traditional systems miss swimmers, small vessels, dark targets, and behavior anomalies creating major gaps in safety, security, and situational awareness.
To solve this, Azimut developed Albatros, an AI-powered software layer that transforms any existing camera network into a real-time maritime intelligence system. Albatros can detect, classify, and track everything from a swimmer’s head to large commercial vessels, while learning the unique behavior patterns of each port to automatically flag anomalies. Azimut operates as a software-only solution, offering rapid deployment and immediate operational impact without new hardware.
Enhancing Maritime Awareness at Ashdod Port with Azimut
Ashdod Port became the first port globally to open its infrastructure to Azimut for a full-scale POC, a pivotal moment that validated the company’s vision.
What the POC Included
• Integration of Albatros AI across Ashdod’s live camera network
• Real-time detection of swimmers, small craft, and unregistered vessels
• Automatic anomaly detection based on learned behavior patterns
• Seamless coordination with port security, operations, and safety teams
The success of the POC delivered measurable operational advantage:
faster response times, clearer visibility in restricted areas, and early detection of potentially hazardous or illegal activity.
Following the breakthrough results, Ashdod Port invested $650,000 in Azimut, a move that reflects the Port’s strategy to back solutions that prove real-world value, scalability, and global potential.
